Competitor Strength Through Reviews

Eazyppc welcomes you to the guide on ‘Competitor Strength Through Reviews’! Before getting started, make sure you have a solid understanding of the ‘Average Market Price’ lesson for a more comprehensive perspective.

Topic 3: Competitor Strength Through Reviews

1/ What is Competitor Strength Through Reviews?

After analyzing selling prices and cost structures in the previous section, in this section Eazyppc will show you how to assess the level of market competition based on review counts. This metric helps determine how willing customers are to try a new product, and in turn evaluates the opportunity for a new product to enter the market.

Accurately analyzing this metric helps you avoid investing in market niches with low acceptance rates for new products, reducing business risk.

To do this, you need to install the Helium10 Extension and use the Xray feature by following these steps:

  • Helium10 Extension → Xray → Filters
  • Hide sponsored products
  • Select Max 100 (50, 200, etc.) for the Reviews filter to show only products with fewer than 100 Reviews (you can adjust this threshold to match your goals).

For example, with the keyword ‘Collagen powder’, the results show that only 1 product with fewer than 100 Reviews appears organically on the first search page.

When running the same process with the keywords ‘Astaxanthin’ and ‘Shilajit gummies’, we get the following results:

You can build a comparison table to evaluate how receptive customers in each market are to new products:

-> With these results, you can consider which market best fits your goals, resources, and budget.

2/ Market Difficulty Classification

Eazyppc has classified market difficulty based on the review score as follows:

  • Hard: <10 points → Requires a strong brand or extensive selling experience to compete.
  • Medium: 10 – 20 points → Possible to enter, but additional factors such as sourcing costs, search volume, and advertising costs should be evaluated.
  • Easy: >20 points → Customers are open to trying new products — suitable for new Sellers or products with few reviews.

Approach by Difficulty Level

  • Hard group (<10 points): Best suited for experienced Sellers, established brands, or those selling across multiple channels. If you are a new Seller, you need solid financial preparation to sustain long-term.
  • Medium group (10 – 20 points): Consider additional factors such as low sourcing costs, high search volume, and reasonable advertising bids.
  • Easy group (>20 points): Customers are more receptive to new products, with a higher acceptance rate.

With this method, you can quickly classify markets, assess keyword difficulty, and make well-informed business decisions.
